How to Play Craps
Craps is many games in one. There are four main
parts to a craps game. The come out roll, rolling
for the point, straight up on the number and crazy
crapper bets. Each of the rules described in the
different games only applies that that part of the
crapes game. So a rule that is true for the come
out roll will not apply for the straight up on a
number.
The Come Out Roll:
On the come out roll you will see a new person
get the dice and the puck/disk will say "OFF". This
is when you will place a bet. You have two places
to bet. On the Pass Line, often called the DO, or
on the Don’t Pass Bar, which is called the "DON'T".
The Come Out Roll usually last for one throw of
the dice. Unless there was a 2,3,7,11, or 12 rolled.
Then you lose or win based on which bet you made.
The Pass Line.
You win even money if a 7 or an 11 is rolled.
You lose if a 2,3 or a 12 is rolled. Any other number
rolled becomes the point. The puck turns to "ON"
and it is now a different game.
The Don’t Pass Bar:
You win even money on the 2 and 3. You lose on
7 and 11. A 12 is how they pay the rent. It is a
draw for the Don’t bettor.
Rolling for the Point:
After The Come Out Roll the game is heads up.
The point number versus the 7. This can last many
rolls or just one. The shooter rolls until the point
or the 7. If the shooters makes the point, which
means they hit the number before the seven, then
the shooter gets to keep the dice and roll and new
Come Out Roll. If the shooter sevens out. They must
pass the dice after their turn.
The Pass Line.
After the point is established the bettor only
wins even if the point is rolled before the 7. The
pass line bettor can now place "Odds" behind their
bet. The pay out is determined by which number is
the point. The are based of how many ways to roll
that numbers against the 7. For 4 and 10 there are
3 dice combinations to get those numbers. With 6
ways to roll a seven that reduced to 2 to 1.

The Don’t Pass Bar:
Hope for the Seven. The odds are in your favor.
To place more money on the number you can make a
"Lay". A Lay is the opposite of odds. You have to
place more money to win less. You may also pick
up your bet at any time. Never do this! The odds
are in your favor once you survive the Come Out
Roll.
